Hi there! I am so glad you found me! I hope you brought your tea or coffee with you because I would love for you to sit and visit with me awhile. You see, I’m a Southern girl at heart (Texas born and raised but currently an Illinois transplant) and that is what we like to do in the South…sit, sip, and chat…about life and all things of the heart! I want you to feel welcome and allow me to share a few inspiring thoughts.
My mom named me Rosemary but somewhere early on in my life, I became “Rosie.” So that is what everyone calls me to this day. I have been married for 48 years to an awesome guy who is the love of my life. Together we raised a son and daughter and we are now the very proud grandparents of four amazing, highly energetic blessings known as our grandsons. As far back as I can remember I have always been an encourager and mentor. Being the oldest sister in a family of seven children, I certainly knew what it was like to be a “second mama.” That title has followed me into my adult life as well. It seems that through every season of my life, God has continually placed other “children” in my path to love, encourage, and mentor.
I am also a “word” person. I love words. I love to read them, write them, and speak them. I guess that is why I have always enjoyed journaling my thoughts. In 2012, God impressed on my heart to begin to write my thoughts through the stories known as “Nuggets.” It was then that the blog, Nuggets From the Heart, was birthed. My first story was posted in June 2012. I have to be honest here. At first, I thought the whole idea was crazy! I mean who would want to read my stories? How could they possibly make a difference? Then one day I received a comment on one of my first blog posts. I had only been blogging for a few weeks. Honestly, I do not even remember now which story it was, but a certain gentleman (who I had never met or knew) living in Australia left a comment!! (Only God!!)
In his comment, he explained that he was desperately searching the internet for something…anything…to encourage him. He said that his wife had left him and their child just days before for reasons he could not understand. He was so distraught and just knew God had abandoned him. He felt so hopeless…until he “stumbled” upon my blog. He thanked me for writing the words he needed at that moment. He said he felt like God was still with him and he was determined not to give up. Needless to say, I sat there with tears of amazement and disbelief!!! I will never forget that moment. I quickly realized that God put this particular man in my path to be encouraged, but at that moment, I also knew God had used his comment to encourage me to write. I told myself, and I told God that as long as he wanted to use me to inspire others through my blog, then I would keep writing. And so here I am today in my eleventh year of blogging, trusting God to use my words somehow to make a difference. Before a blog post is ever published I cover it with a prayer asking God to put that story in the path of just the right person at just the right time. He continues to honor that request faithfully.
ENCOURAGEMENT is the word I would choose to summarize the reason for my blog, my book, and my ministry. Nuggets from the Heart is a collection of my stories during various seasons of my life. They are stories of hope written in the pages of my life by the loving hand of my Heavenly Father. As you read these “Nuggets” I pray you too will be encouraged by a fresh revelation of God’s goodness and faithfulness. My Nuggets were planted in my heart by the Father and then harvested by me to share the truth of the Father’s love for anyone who reads them.
There’s just one more thing I have to say. You are not here by accident! I believe there is a Nugget specifically waiting for you no matter what season of life you may be in. This moment is for you. Enjoy, be blessed and be sure to come back anytime! Oh and if you happen to read something that tugs at your heart, feel free to pass my Nuggets on to another sweet soul. You never know…you just might be the answer to someone’s prayer for a Nugget of hope!
Romans 15:13 (NIV)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
