Psssst...who would like a copy of my book, Nuggets from the Heart, as a free gift? Yes I am talking about this book right here. I promise, the stories within the pages are as sweet as the cover. Well don't miss the "P.S. note" at the end of this post for details! But first let me share a little Nugget of love with you. A seed. It is a small thing. Small in comparison to the fruit it can yield with proper care. One of the tiniest seeds is the mustard seed which is no bigger than the round end of a pin head. Yet from that tiny seed there is the potential to sprout a tree that can tower up to thirty feet in some instances. “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the ... View Post
Unplanned Stillness
Where Is Rosie? Remember Waldo? I'm pretty sure most of you reading this right now know exactly who I am referring to. He is the iconic little guy in the popular children's puzzle book series, "Where's Waldo?" Dressed in a matching red and white striped shirt and hat along with those large rimmed black eyeglasses, Waldo has become a popular name among many avid Waldo seekers. The pages of each book are filled (more like crammed) with a myriad of tiny characters doing random activities. Somewhere amidst the sea of tiny figures is a well hidden Waldo. The reader's job is to do nothing more than find the elusive Waldo. It is such a simple concept but I must admit, I always enjoyed that puzzle book when my children were young. Truth be known I still enjoy a good Waldo search from time to ... View Post
A Christmas Nugget of Truth: Repost
Christmas Day is now less than a week away. It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of making sure that everything is perfect for the big celebration. For most people, there has been a flurry of activity since Thanksgiving with decorating, parties, dinners, kids Christmas programs, shopping, wrapping gifts, plans to visit family near and far, more shopping, more gift wrapping...and the list goes on. Could it be that in the midst of all the preparations for this yearly celebration, we find ourselves forgetting Who the party is really in honor of? I know I have been guilty of this very thing in years past. Believe me I totally understand. I mean I get it. We want things to be as perfect as they can be for this special holiday. But when or if we find ourselves more ... View Post

Refiner’s Fire: A Story of Healing
Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the ... View Post
Jesus, Thorns, and Roses
I love roses. The thorns are another story. But the truth is you cannot have one without the other. They go hand in hand. A few days ago I was in my car and I was thinking about a situation that I had been trying to make some decisions on. It had been nagging at me for several days and the problem side of it was just looming in my mind. Suddenly it seemed like God was trying to show me something as I got a picture of a rose garden in my mind. This one question settled in my spirit: Where is your focus? Then a little nugget came to me. DISMAY complains and says" "How sad that there are so many thorns on a single rose." DELIGHT exclaims and says: "What joy to find a single rose in the midst of so many thorns!" Again the thought came to me...what is my focus? Life is kind of ... View Post
